International companies often need their application to be accessible in the language of choice of the employees and customers. Even companies who operate in North America may need to support applications and/or web sites in English, French, Spanish and other languages. We have extensive experience with Domino Global Workbench, a tool included with the Domino R5 server, which simplifies the identification of the elements that require human translation.
The central problem that Domino Global Workbench addresses is the separation of code and text in Web applications. By automatically separating all user-visible text from application code, Domino Global WorkBench enhances the productivity and efficiency of globalization efforts tremendously. It allows Web developers to focus on creating applications, while minimizing design constraints. Likewise, it lets translators focus on translation, without the need to work directly with application code or even to learn Domino or the Lotus Notes client. And it enables content providers to focus on creating content, without worrying about the architecture of the site.
VERY IMPORTANT....Domino Global Worbench does not include machine translation; the actual translation of the text has to be performed by a human translator.
