Data Synchronization

Most companies have applications which have been developed using traditional relational database management products, such as DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase or even Access. These applications may be older, legacy applications or newly developed applications which require the functionality of an RDBMS.

Lotus Enterprise Integrators are a set of tools that enable your Notes data to be automatically synchronized with your back end application.

For example, staff are submitting expense reports at the Domino Corporate Intranet Portal for approval by their Manager and subsequent check cutting by Accounts Payable. Simple Notes workflow handles the routing of the approved expense report to the A/P person. Selected information from the approved expense form can be automatically entered into the Accounts Payable module of the corporate accounting system. This simple automation eliminates the need for the A/P person to re-enter the expense info into the A/P system; saving time and eliminating errors.

Another example is where a very large order is recieved in an on-line order entry system, using a DB2 backend. Pre-selected order information is automatically synchronized with a Domino Sales Force Automation database, which notifes the Sales Manager that the order has been received, and sends a broadcast "Congratulation" e-mail to the team involved in securing the order.
